CHRISTMAS IN COWCHIP
The heart warming story of greed and redemption at Christmas
By Norman Morrison

Fableshop-cover

Kindle book, digital edition only.
Length: 26,000 words. (A complete evening of fine reading!)
Rating: PG
Set in contemporary times, it’s the story of Norm (No relation to the author) the owner and CEO of the world famous but largely unknown RYO Corporation right there in downtown Cowchip Alabama.
Norm is the most powerful man in the whole world, but he becomes melancholy and a pain to his friends and employees because he is bored, I guess. He has accomplished everything he set out to accomplish. (See my novel, “The RYO Lodge in early 2013.)
Then, as luck would have it he discovers a world beating deposit of copper near Cowchip. He sets out to grab it, rooking the rightful owners in the process. This makes him a little happier, but drives not only his employees but the whole town of Cowchip away from him which makes him more miserable.
How Norm not only gets his tail out of a twist but manages to have a happy ending after all is ALL THE FUN finding out for the reader, which is YOU!
Change a couple of well placed mild expletives to hecks and darns, and Christmas In Cowchip is suitable to read to little babies who also want to hear an inspiring Christmas tale of redemption.
You may not cry out for joy at the climax of the story, but you will dab your eye with your hankie. This goes for manly men as well as refined ladies.
Christmas In Cowchip is one in the "Cowchip" brand series of Kindle books available now.
Cowchip News Flash: Coming early in 2013 watch out for the Cowchip novel called "The RYO Lodge." Sure to be a monstro hit with discerning readers.

GetCalhoun.com, the Website of Calhoun County (and surrounding counties) Alabama has been around since 2002 serving the local interests.

In that time I, as the editor and owner have seen several "local" sites come and go. Mostly go.

GetCalhoun.com has had its share of challenges but it remains.

But the reason for this post is that I have had my challenges as well. Times are hard!

Hard times was part of the reason I developed GC like I did. Many smaller businesses can't afford so called mainstream media advertising. Ads on GC have ALWAYS been affordable as well as a good investment as far as the Internet goes anyway

Most companies can't afford television ads. Radio ads are always risky, because there are so darn many stations. You can drop a bundle very quickly with radio without seeing your money come back.

Likewise, newspaper advertising is gone in a day and is VERY expensive. Most folks simply don't have the capital.

All forms of advertising that you can get locally have their place. But mostly, it works only if you have a hot item that will show profit that you need to get the word out about.

The good news about GC is that for a small payment you get a page or two of advertising that lasts a year and is almost guaranteed to outdo your own website, if you have one.

Of course, I build complete sites as well.

Something else. Over the last few years I have also put in a lot of time in national and global Internet marketing. As Internet Marketers (IM) folks go, I'm in the upper echelon as far as experience and training. I have done so much of it that eventually, I got to the point that I even teach it to others.

But, with experience, sometimes comes wisdom. What I have learned...the hard way...is that very few IM folks ever "strike it rich." And of those, only a small percentage are actually able to make a dependable income

In short, Internet marketing should be approached as a really fun hobby, and not as a way to make a living.

The ONLY thing that I EVER found that works EVERY time its tried is a website like GetCalhoun.com...and I invented it! All that other stuff is just a colossal waste of time. Take that from a pro.

Therefore, if you're still reading, note that I have taken most of the information and links to my other IM work from GetCalhoun.com. I'm about 90% done with that stuff!

GC is much more like it was before my detour into the larger world of marketing. Now it nearly all local once again.

I confess that I never tire of visiting GC. Not working it...just visiting it. I love see the stats, make search engine experiments, and all of that web guy stuff. But mostly, I love to see the pages succeed in the search results for me and my clients.

GC is as much a part of the community as the Anniston Star, your favorite radio stations, your favorite television and cable channels. Even after a decade it is still loaded with potential, limited only by drive and interest to promote it to the county. GC is a UNIQUE website idea and model. That's saying something when you consider the millions of websites you can find to visit. Jeez!

Ok. Even as I'm getting out of outside Internet marketing, and getting rid of all the thousands of distractions those pursuits cause, it just so happens that I'm working my way back to my first love, and that is writing.

Thanks to the Amazon Kindle program I have several "books" published. For curiosity sake, perhaps you might be interested in taking a look at one of Calhoun County's oldest new authors..

See my books here... The Cowchip/AL Series

As of this writing I have five books in print with more in the works. They are all set in Alabama. Sorry, chances are fairly excellent that you won't find yourself in them. But you may recognize some of the locales. You will also recognize some of the characters in the aggregate, because they are us!

If you should purchase one or all, and you like them, I hope you'll leave a kindly review on Amazon.

So, thanks for your continuing interest and support of GetCalhoun.com. Be sure to visit my advertisers and tell them that GC sent you!

Thanks!

Three questions to ask before you decide to write a book:

[[posterous-content:pid___0]]

Kindle Publishing Review

1. Who and where is my audience?

2. How do I publish a book?

3. Am I writing for love of writing or MONEY?

The Answer:

The answer to the first question is that whoever your audience is, you'll find them on Amazon Kindle Books.

Second question: You can use the time tested methods of relying on yourself, an agent, or the vanity press. Or, you can publish to the Kindle platform.

Thirdly: The ONLY reason to write is for some form of remuneration. That is validation for the writer. Getting paid means that your words means something. Else, stick to your diary.

Kindle book publishing is the answer authors have been seeking since the days of the clay tablet model. Only Amazon could have brought it off. It takes a company that big.

Once you decide to write, and to publish to Kindle, then what?

At this point you have two choices.

1. Do a ton of research to learn how to do it from free sources on the net. Normally, I'd pick this one, but having gone that route already, I can tell you from my experience...forget it.

2. Pay reasonable money for the best Kindle course on the market so that you don't end up laying down a faulty foundation before you write your first word.

Expanding a bit. There is free information on the net about how to publish on Kindle starting with Kindle itself.

The Kindle folks will get you so far, but then you MUST go further. After this, there is plenty of publishing information, but no so much as you might think.

What I learned is that much of it is out of date, and nearly all of it is misleading. You CAN publish using what you learn from free tutorials, but more likely you will wind up disoriented, confused, and miserable. More, if you do put it all together, you're going to end up doing MUCH more than you have to, to get your book on Kindle.

If you're skeptical, try it. Go free info, then pro info. You'll find, in the end, that I shot straight with you.

The Solution

I learned early on about Geoff Shaw's Kindling course, but being hard headed went all over the place trying to get the info I needed for free. But I kept going back to his sales page. Finally, I amassed enough education to get published...I thought. After I had pieced everything together I said to myself there MUST be a better way! Then I bought Geoff's course. It took all of about five minutes of studying to see that I had made the right decision.

I urge you to visit my Kindle Publishing Review to learn the whole story and then go on and purchase Geoff's course.

Even if you are already published, it's in your best interest. The fact is that there is MORE to being a success on Amazon Kindle than simply throwing up a story or book. You get ALL the right information with Geoff's course. I use it. So should you!

This is a Calhoun County Alabama GetCalhoun.com Web Development Alert ...
Contact GetCalhoun.com 256-405-9713

I'm working on a new type of marketing campaign for GetCalhoun.com the Website of Calhoun County Alabama. The goal is to contact as many local businesses as possible to let them know the opportunity of hosting a mini-website with me. Even better, my work comes with a savings coupon. See it in the video below.

The benefits of joining the GetCalhoun.com community of advertisers:
  • You get a not only a page, but a mini-website to advertise your business on the Internet.
  • It's good if you have NO advertising.
  • It's good if you already have a website, for a page on GetCalhoun.com will drive viewers to your existing site.
  • Each time a new advertiser comes on board all advertisers are strengthened.
  • Advertising with GC is not only cheaper than building a website, but in most cases will deliver more traffic to your business.
  • GetCalhoun.com offers much more than simple web advertising. We are very new fangled here with all the latest Internet marketing techniques!
Once upon a time in America, all you needed was a website, but those days are long gone. Today, folks are much smarter about their viewing habits on the Internet.

Always, you needed a professional website designed by a professional website designer. Today, when you can push a few buttons online and generate a website, and professional web designers are a dime a dozen, which way do you go?

You go with not only a professional web developer, but one that understands marketing as well. While you'll often find the one, only rarely do you find both in one package. That's where I come in with my GetCalhoun.com model.

When you host a mini website on GetCalhoun.com or let me build a complete standalone site, you know you're getting the benefit of not only excellence in page making, but also in the marketing arts.

I can offer you many and copious examples of why my work stands head and shoulders above the rest. The test is how well my pages rank on Google. They rank very well indeed.

One of my fondest sayings is that a million dollar website won't do you a nickel's worth of good if nobody can find it. This is a fact to be taken to heart. If you already own a website, how many page views does it get a month?

A shiny and pretty website is worth exactly spit if it's not serving its purpose because people can't find it when they are looking for what you do.

That said, marketing on the Internet is far more complicated than it used to be. On the other hand, with what we know these days, a good site can also be more lucrative than ever before.

Naturally, each business situation is different. That's why I make CUSTOM pages. Yes!

What I will do for you is to squeeze every last bit of traffic from the Internet that is possible and route it to your website and or business.

All of that and discount coupons too!

Remember, when you do business with Norm, the owner and editor, no matter if your business is small in size, GetCalhoun.com will equalize.

Let's get together and make web magic for your business and kick that old recession right in the teeth!

Nortitz Tankless Water Heater Review is for you if you own a tankless water heater. It will prove facinating reading indeed!

If you don't own a tankless water heater and never plan to own a tankless water heater, then carry on to something else more exciting.

The Noritz Tankless Water Heater is one make among many green technology on demand water heaters.

The beauty of a tankless water heater is that you only get hot water when you need it, unlike the old fashioned standard water heaters that keep water hot 24/7 whether you need it or not. In theory you can save a chunk of change by going green with a tankless water heater.

However... There are a few things they don't mention in the sales literature that you need to be aware of should you be in the market for one of the popular tankless water heaters.

After reading this Nortitz Tankless Water Heater Review you might just decide that you like your old energy useless model sitting in the corner, in the basement, or out in the washer room.

Green energy is fun, but until they come up with a way to power an airplane with a windmill, it isn't likely that they'll invent the perfect tankless water heater. Read with joy!

AC Repair is a website that gives new life to the deadly dull topic of AC Repair.

The fact is that you don't need AC Repair until you need it and then you need it real bad and right then!

However, there is no use in being bored out of your brain when looking for the best local AC Repair company in town.

The AC Repair site offers scientific weather data for your location, photos, and video. It also feature historical information about the dangers of hot weather.

Taken in total, AC Repair is the most unusual air conditioning repair website on the entire Internet today.

Even if you don't need AC Repair at the moment, the sit is worth a visit just to loaf around looking at the historical photos and information going back more than one hundred years ago!

Check out this interesting AC Repair video made for the AC Repair website!

AC Repair is the topic of my latest excursion into Internet Marketing.

It is what is known as an "Authority Website" in that is a site of many diverse pages of air conditioning repair advice aimed at the national market.

The test for the idea came from GetCalhoun.com. If you were to visit Google and type in the phrase "air conditioner repair anniston" you would find two of my projects on the very first page.

Understanding that there is a market for AC Repair advice, I decided to launch the national version. There are an awful lot of hot people out there.

At this writing it is the middle of January and not overly warm. However, knowing that pages need time to get found, hopefully the AC Repair website will be ripe for when the temperature soars!

Remember, I actually teach folks how to Work from Home with Internet Marketing Training. If you are out of a job in the Anniston area, learning a new trade beats hanging out at the mall.
Google Panda Update is the subject of my next to latest website venture called PandaCookBook.com.

It is aimed at folks who do what I do, which is Internet Marketing and not at really strange people who like Panda bear sandwiches.

Recently I placed this photo on the very front of GetCalhoun.com...

Not that I'm bragging, naturally. This is a homegrown tomato from my 2011 collection. The photo was taken on January 1, 2012.

Sadly, I had my last home grown tomato sandwich on January 12, 2012.
If you're not into tomato sandwiches, then this wouldn't mean much to you.
But if you are the kind of person who would like a fresh tomato in January, then you might also like to visit my Survival Information website and take it to heart.

Two things of interest for you, if using your computer to make money is something you'd like to know more about.

I have two new fired up websites for you to peruse...

WorkAtHomeGC.com

These two sites have grown from my popular Internet Marketing Training pages right here on GetCalhoun.com. The sites are just a bit more fancy.
